Start December 14th

This is a very simple tradition we do 12 nights before Christmas.  We keep it very simple.  We light a candle for each boy and sing a Christmas song each night.  Once the song is over, the boys blow the candles out.  Here is a list of the songs.  If you are like me and don't know the words to all of these songs, you can look them up online and print them out.
Day 1  Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Day 2 O Little Town of Bethlehem
Day 3 O Christmas Tree
Day 4 Away in a Manger
Day 5 Joy to the World
Day 6 What Child is This
Day 7 First Noel
Day 8 O Come all ye Faithful
Day 9 Silent Night
Day 10 Little Drummer Boy
Day 11 We Three Kings
Day 12  Happy Birthday Baby Jesus
What are your traditions?  Please share.

Stephanie, I just read this in the Purpose Driven Devotion celebrating Christmas.

“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Luke 2:10 (NIV)

"The joy of Christmas is based on three things: (1) God loves us; (2) God is with us; (3) God is for us. Can you hear the celebration in that?!"

Then he goes on to talk about how Christmas should be such a celebration of Joy and how many people dread it and just want to get it over with. You do as good of a job of anyone I know of teaching the boys how to celebrate Christ and what this season is really about.
Thank you that you are raising them that way! What better way to celebrate Him?! Wish I had had your insight at your age!
Love to you,
Mimi.

This is a great tradition, Steph! I'm starting the tradition of the Advent Wreath with Caleb. He obviously doesn't get it yet, but I wanted to share it as soon as possible with him, anyway!!
